Transforming Loneliness into Lasting Bonds
Studies suggest chronic loneliness may impact long-term health as significantly as smoking up to 15 cigarettes per day.
Grandfriend Network was founded to address a growing but often unseen public health concern: social isolation and loneliness among other adults.

The Challenge
Loneliness is more than an emotional experience—it is increasingly recognized as a serious health risk. Research has linked chronic social isolation to higher rates of depression, cognitive decline, and physical health conditions, as well as increased mortality risk. As populations age and family structures shift, more seniors are finding themselves without consistent, meaningful social connection.

Why we Started
The inspiration behind GrandFriend Network is rooted in firsthand experience. Through work in nursing homes and hospice care, our founder witnessed the profound impact of loneliness on individuals who have spent their lives caring for others—only to face later years with limited connection and support. These experiences revealed a gap that traditional services do not fully address: the need for consistent, personal, human relationships.

GrandFriend Network was created to fill that gap.

Our Solution
We connect adults and seniors through intentionally matched, one-on-one relationships based on shared interests, values, and life experiences. Our focus is not on one-time visits or casual interaction, but on fostering ongoing, meaningful connections that provide companionship, emotional support, and a sense of belonging.

Our Vision
As we launch our pilot program in Columbia, Missouri, we are working to build a model that is thoughtful, scalable, and rooted in community partnership. By starting intentionally and focusing on quality connections, we aim to demonstrate the impact of meaningful social engagement and expand access to those who need it most.

We believe that no one should experience life's later chapters in isolation—and that even a single, consistent connection can make a lasting difference.
